Spanish Beer Fest, Sparkling Wine at Terroir, and More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

When: Today, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Terroir Park Slope
What: This afternoon, the Park Slope location of Terroir wine bar is hosting the the last of its classes dedicated to winter wines. The series wraps up with a discussion of "what's behind the bubbles" in a glass of bubbly. Guests will get to sample everything from Champagne to Cava while learning about sparkling wine's history. Tickets are $22.

When: Today, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Jimmy's No. 43
What: East Village bar Jimmy's No. 43 is teaming up with Iberian United and guest chef Louise Leonard to host a Spanish Christmas celebrating this afternoon. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be a pay-as-you-go Spanish beer fest, and at 7 p.m., there will be a ticketed prix fixe dinner. For $65, guests will get a five-course tapas menu featuring dishes like chorizo toast and boquerones paired with specially selected beers.

When: Today, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Natural Gourmet Institute
What: This afternoon, learn how to make delicious duck at home. Chef Olivia Roszkowski, formerly of Momofuku's exclusive "Duck Bar" lunch, is leading a class on all things duck. She'll teach guests how to use the whole bird to make a delicious dishes like tea-smoked duck crostini, duck fat fingerling potatoes, and duck liver mousse. Wine will be served during this hands-on cooking class. Tickets are $125 and available online here.

When: Today & Tomorrow, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: LIC Flea & Food
What: This is the last weekend to check out the LIC Flea & Food's holiday market, the largest market in Queens featuring handmade products, along with local beer, wine, and seasonal cocktails. Local food vendors, like Arborio King and Jam Jar Bakery, will be serving up and selling their goods all weekend long. Santa will also be around for photo opps this afternoon.

When: Today & Tomorrow, 12 p.m.
Where: Nitehawk Cinema
What: Williamsburg's movie theater/restaurant Nitehawk Cinema is showing a brunch screening of Pecker, starring Chistina Ricci and Edward Furlong, this weekend. As part of the theater's ongoing brunch series, the movie will be accompanied by brunch items like eggs Benedict, tater tots, breakfast tacos, and movie-themed cocktails.
