Filipino Food at Riverpark; The Gramercy Tavern Pang

Riverpark by Krieger

KIPS BAY — Riverpark is serving some Filipino dishes from now until the end of the year to benefit victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. For lunch there are dishes like longganisa with pork sausage, green papaya relish, and sweet potato chips, and for dinner, things like seafood sinigang with prawns, calamari, and Manila clams in tamarind broth. All proceeds from these dishes will be donated to relief efforts. [EaterWire]

COLLABORATIONS — The Num Pang team is bringing back the "Guest Chefs Give Back" charity series with the Gramercy Tavern Pang. The sandwich, inspired by Michael Anthony's new Gramercy Tavern Cookbook, is made with duck meatloaf and spicy kimchi, and $6 from the sale of each one will be split between the Food Bank NYC and God's Love We Deliver. The sandwich is available starting tomorrow through December 31. [EaterWire]

RECEIPTROCITY — An anonymous and very generous tipper has been leaving thousands of dollars in tips for servers, bartenders, and golf caddies across the country. The tipper (or tippers?) goes only by the Instagram handle TipsForJesus, and has left tips ranging from $500 to $10,000, totaling over $54,000 so far. [~EN~]
