A tipster sends along this photo of a sign hanging in the window of Williamsburg critical darling Gwynnett St. indicating that the restaurant is taking a short break for some renovations. This news comes one week after owner Carl McCoy was involved with a drug bust. In a statement about the incident, McCoy explains: "At no time would I ever undertake the accused activities for personal or professional gain." Neighborhood blog Barely Bushwick hears that some employees have begun looking for other work.
The restaurant's website also mentions the "unforeseen renovations" from December 16 to December 27, as well as information about the special dinner that's planned for New Year's Eve.
