UPPER EAST SIDE — Amali is offering a few specials on its a la carte menu for New Years Eve, including risotto with white truffles, lobster pasta, and cotechino. It will send diners home with slices of vasilopita, a Greek New Year's cake. In keeping with tradition, one of those slices will have a coin hidden inside, and whoever gets it will win dinner and a wine tasting for two. [EaterWire]
YEAR IN EATER — Eater National has a roundup of some of the best new restaurants of 2013, according to a long list of food writers and experts from around the world.
