Michael White Heads Uptown With Ristorante Morini

Tonight, Michael White, Ahmass Fakahany, and the Altamarea Group team will open Ristorante Morini, an Italian fine dining restaurant in the Upper East Side space that formerly housed Centolire. The menu from White and executive chef Gordon Finn (Alto) features regional specialties from all over Italy. Options include crudo, caviar, Roman and Piedmontese-style pastas, lobster-filled calamari, Marsala-braised snails, and a pan-roasted veal chop. Bob Truitt is overseeing the pastry department, and Richard Anderson, formerly of Marea, is in charge of the wine program.

For those keeping track at home, this is Altamarea's seventh Manhattan restaurant, and the group's third New York opening in 2013. Take a look around the space below, and do send any early reports our way.
