Jean-Marc Houmard, Jon Neidich, and Hui Chi Lee are planning to open their Mexican/Asian restaurant in the old Laugh Lounge in spring 2014. Zagat reports that Alex Lopez will be the chef at the new restaurant from the Acme/Indochine team. Houmard explains: "There will be empanadas, tacos, tamales, and the fillings and sauces will have Asian flavors...We realize that the two cuisines are actually not that far apart from each other." Lopez previously worked at Kittichai, which is owned by Lee and Houmard. When the team first submitted materials to the CB3 last summer, the working title of the restaurant was "South Central," but now it sounds like they haven't decided on a name yet.
