Santas Begin Sloppy Rampage Through New York

The annual pub crawl/public nuisance known as SantaCon kicked off this morning at 10 a.m. in Tompkins Square Park. As EV Grieve notes, the NYPD is out in full force. Although the SantaCon organizers have not announced the full route for this very bad idea, they did just release a list of places where the Santas will be drinking in the East Village this morning. The Times reports that the Santas will stumble into Bed-Stuy by the end of the day. Also, New Jersey Transit, the Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North Railroad announced that alcohol will not be allowed on trains today. If you own a bar or restaurant, and you want to make sure that these jokers stay out of your establishment, download one of Eater's free "No Drunk Santas" signs.
