Danny Meyer has signed on to operate the cafe at the Theater for a New Audience, a new Shakespeare playhouse in Downtown Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle reports that Meyer's Union Square Events group presented plans for the cafe at the Community Board 2 meeting earlier this week, and gained unanimous approval of its liquor license application.

According to a representative of the hospitality group, the cafe will have "a rustic American-Italian thing going on," with food like a roasted pork loin sandwich and a kale Caesar salad, plus beer and local wines, coffee, and pastries. The cafe will be open only right before and during shows. The team hopes to get the cafe up and running by the end of the month.
