NOLITA — Tonight Mother's Ruin is hosting a benefit for Williamsburg cocktail bar Donna, which was shuttered by an electrical fire earlier this month. From 7 to 10 p.m. all cocktails will be $9, and the team from Donna will split all proceeds with the RYOT Foundation, which is helping with the relief effort in the Philippines. [EaterWire]
NOMAD — The Breslin is serving a Black Friday brunch this Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The menu is the same as the usual weekend-only brunch menu, with dishes like whole wheat pancakes with apple butter and candied walnuts, roasted pumpkin frittata, and a full English breakfast. [EaterWire]
INSECTWIRE —For the next few months, Mexican tapas spot Antojeria La Popular is serving a "grass-whopper" aka a burger made out grasshoppers. The slider-sized sandwich, which was developed by artist Pedro Reyes for a recent summit meeting at the Queens Museum, consists of a patty made with the ground insects and chihuahua cheese, topped with chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion. And while this is a limited special, the restaurant also serves cricket tacos year-round [GS]
CHICAGO — Here's a look around the brand gleaming new Eataly Chicago, which opens to the public this Monday at 4 p.m. The biggest difference here is space. Not only is it 30 percent larger than the New York original, but it's also organized in a more open, two-story layout. Also there's a Nutella bar. Its separate white-tablecloth restaurant, Baffo, opens December 10. [Eater Chicago]
