A coalition of state and local politicians, including Senators Brad Hoylman and Daniel Squadron, and Council member Christine Quinn released a letter today begging the Drunk Santas of SantaCon to adopt some "good-neighbor principles." As Senator Liz Kreuger put it: "For hundreds of years merry-making in taverns, beer halls and bars has been part of the fabric of life in our city, but there's nothing merry about a costumed, abusive crowd wandering the streets spreading mayhem."
