The Fatty 'Cue Brooklyn saga comes to an end today with news that the restaurant will close after this weekend. The Fatty Crew Hospitality Group sends word that it will "continue to operate the space as 'Fatty Lab,' an experimental venue used to develop new concepts, hold private events and host pop-ups." It sounds like the Fatty Crew has a few more projects in the works, as well.
Fatty 'Cue opened to a lot of buzz and generally solid reviews back in spring 2010, then it closed in winter 2012, and reopened earlier this year with a new dining room and a slightly different concept. There have been some major staff shuffles in the Fatty Crew over the last few years, and at this point, it's unclear how much original Fatty Papa Zak Pelaccio is involved in this empire, although he's still listed as the creative director/owner on the group's website. The West Village location of Fatty 'Cue is still going strong, as is the original Fatty Crab.
UPDATE: A rep for Zak Pelaccio sends word that the chef has no involvement in the Fatty Crew anymore. The Fatty Crew's website is not up to date. Zak is now upstate, running his new hot spot Fish & Game.
