Butter Midtown
Phone: 212-253-2828
Address: 70 West 45th St., Midtown
Web: www.butterrestaurant.com
Status: Opens tonight
The new Midtown location of Richie Akiva, Scott Sartiano, and chef/TV personality/Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli's Butter opens for dinner tonight. The dining room has vaulting arches, a stretch of communal tables, and a wood-fired oven for making dishes like Welsh rarebit. There's also a 60 seat garden out back, and a private dining room for 20.
The menu is similar, though not exactly the same as the one served at the Noho original. Entrees range from whole roasted branzino to a Berkshire pork chop and a Tomahawk steak for two. The menu also includes raw bar items and various homemade charcuterie dishes, like duck rillettes and veal bacon. Take a look at the full menu after the jump. Butter Midtown will eventually serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but for now it's only open in the evenings, starting at 5:30 p.m.. The original Butter on Lafayette Street, meanwhile, remains closed for renovations, but it should reopen in the not-to-distant future.
