Pig Roast at L'Apicio, Roberta's at Smorgasburg, and More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

When: Today, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: L'Apicio
What: This afternoon, L'Apicio is hosting a pig roast in its bar, patio, and lounge space. There will be endless pork, all-you-can-drink beer and cider, and sides galore, including pasta salad and cabbage mostarda. Dessert, like lemon bars and chocolate torta brownies, will be available as well. Tickets are $35, and are all inclusive.

When: Today, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Smorgasburg
What: Fort Greene's Greenlight Bookstore continues its cookbook series at its Smorgasburg booth today. The guys behind Roberta's—chef Carlo Mirarchi and co-owners Brandon Hoy and Chris Parachini—will present their new cookbook Roberta's Cookbook and discuss how their restaurant compound came to be. They'll sign copies of the book and provide samples of their pizza creations.

Soup-Bowl-Fundraiser-thumb.jpg3) Soup Bowl Fundraiser
When: Sunday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Eat
What: Eat Greenpoint is hosting its annual Soup Bowl Fundraiser tomorrow afternoon. For $25, guests will receive a locally hand-made ceramic soup bowl, a bowl of soup from The Splendid Spoon, and a beer from Brooklyn Brewery. The event is a fundraiser for the Greenpoint Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen, with 100% of the proceeds being donated.

root-n-bone.jpg4) Root & Bone Pop-Up
When: Today, 7 p.m. & 9:15 p.m.
Where: The Brew Inn
What: As Eater previously noted, former Top Cheftestapant and Yardbird chef Jeff McInnis is hosting a couple of pop-up preview meals for his forthcoming East Village restaurant, Root & Bone, this month. Tonight he and his partner (and current Cheftestapant) Janine Booth are serving up a nine-course meal "showcasing upscale dining from the South." There are two seatings this evening. Tickets are $65, and include beer.

When: Today, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Jimmy's No. 43
What: The fourth annual Battle of the Belgians kicks off this afternoon and will feature a wide variety of Belgian and Belgian-style beers. Expert brewers and distributors from around the globe, in addition to a few home brewers, will provide samples of their beers. There will also be brunch-style food offerings, including bacon, biscuits, and chocolate. Tickets are $45.
