Typhoon Relief at Aldea; Elsen Sisters at The Strand

TYPHOON RELIEF — On Monday, November 18, Aldea will donate all of its dinner and lunch sales to All Hands Volunteers, an organization that's aiding the recovery efforts related to the typhoon in the Philippines. On Thursday, November 21, The Randolph Brooklyn will also hold a fundraiser for Typhoon Haiyan relief with music from live DJs, and "merienda" snacks. The party has a $20 suggested donation at the door, with all of the money going to Kaisa Ka, an organization that's helping Filipino women that are suffering from disaster-related trauma. The Randolph Brooklyn will also be accepting canned food, bedding, and clothes, which will be donated to the Red Cross. The event will run from 7 to 8 p.m. [EaterWire]

VIDEO INTERLUDEIt's been exactly one year since Pete Wells filed a zero-star takedown of Guy's American Kitchen and Bar. So to see how negative reviews have impacted business one year later, Yahoo! News stood outside the restaurant to collect diners' opinions of the meals they just ate there, while reading lines from Wells' missive in the process. Head over to Eater National for the video.
