Dirk The Norseman Is Getting Oh So Close to Opening

Edward Raven is putting the finishing touches on his soon to open brewpub, Dirk the Norseman, on the border of Greenpoint and Williamsburg. Raven is a former Brooklyn Brewery employee and owner of the beer store and bar Brouwerij Lane, and has teamed up with brewmaster Chris Prout to open Greenpoint's only brewpub. Raven named the place after Greenpoint's first settler, and when it opens, Dirk will serve up 10 home brews and six additional imports to go along with a whopping 270 seats.

The Brooklyn Paper reports that the owners of the space have "refitted old kegs as chandeliers, installed the huge wood stove by the front garage doors, and saved a space in the back corner for bands to play," and a pass by over the weekend revealed that construction is nearly finished, with an expected opening scheduled for sometime in mid-December.
