It looks like Danny Bowien and his crew are almost ready to kick open the doors to Mission Cantina, the new Mexican spinoff of Mission Chinese Food. After throwing a one-day-only, spur of the moment burrito pop-up last week, the restaurant held a preview dinner last night. From the tweets and Instagrams trickling in, it looks like there will be dishes like soft-scrambled eggs with uni, caviar and chicharrones and scallop and beef heart ceviche. Plus, as already mentioned, house-made tortillas (see the set-up in the picture above), tacos al pastor, and some large format dishes.
Mission Cantina is slated to open to the public next Thursday, November 20.
