The Robicellis Are Opening a Bakery in Bay Ridge

Matt and Allison Robicelli, the do-good husband-and-wife bakers behind Robicelli's are opening a brick and mortar bakery to sell their cult favorite cupcakes. The couple announced on their blog today that they'll open the new bakery out in Bay Ridge, which they chose over "some trendy neighborhood like Carroll Gardens, or GreenSwope, or Wickvesant," because it's their home turf, and "to remind people that there's beautiful things happening in all of Brooklyn."

This is not the first shop for the Robicellis: they closed down the original four years ago to focus on their wholesale business and their children, and also had a container shop at the short-lived Dekalb Market. But now that both the kids are in school, they've decided that the time is right again. They haven't revealed the exact address yet, but the new spot is set to open in a few weeks.
