Rooftop Crab Boil, Total Gowanus Immersion, and More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

When: Today, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Various Locations
What: This afternoon, Brooklyn Based and Brooklyn Brewery are taking to the streets one last time for their final pub crawl of the season, the Total Gowanus Immersion. The first 500 people to pick up one of the Immersion Cards at either Canal Bar or Lavender Lake will get free Brooklyn Brewery beers at places like Littleneck and Halyards. The card also gets you discounts on tacos from Oaxaca and free beers with lunch at Runner and Stone. Check back here for updates and more information.

What:
Edible Queens and LIC's rooftop farm Brooklyn Grange are kicking off a series of farm-to-table dinner parties called "Butcher Paper Dinner" tomorrow afternoon. The inaugural dinner will be hosted by Will Horowitz of Duck's Eatery and will involve some blue crabs, farm-fresh vegetables, oysters, wine, and beer. The crab boil will be served on an enormous communal table covered in a roll of butcher paper. Tickets are $80.

When: Sunday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: The Brooklyn Kitchen
What: Celebrate the final days of Oktoberfest with a class dedicated to all things German. Participants will put together a German feast complete with schnitzel, beer mustard, and braised red cabbage. Beer pairings will be provided, as will a short lesson about German beers. Tickets are $85.

When: Sunday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Pearl & Ash
What: Sherryfest 2013 starts today with sherry tastings at various wine retailers around the city. And tomorrow, Pearl & Ash will host a sherry dinner featuring four courses and eight sherries. The meal, inclusive of tax and tip, costs $130 per person. Check out the menu here.

When: Today, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Eventi Hotel
What: Seamus Mullen of Tertulia is teaming up with Charity:Water, a non-profit organization, to host a 25-course cocktail party tonight. The party will serve as a fundraiser to raise money to bring clean water to Orissa, India. There will be an open bar and Indian-inspired food. Tickets are $75 online, or $85 at the door.
