WILLIAMSBURG — The Woods has started a Thursday night party called Waikiki Woods, featuring frozen drinks and Tiki cocktails in the new outdoor bar (all drinks are $10 with $8 refills). The menu for the party has things like an "aloha burger" made with Pat LaFrieda beef and grilled Spam, and Hawaiian tacos. Live DJs will spin each week. [EaterWire]
SOHO — Angolo Soho has shuttered for good. Now, Grub Street learns that Tony Fortuna plans to open a new location of his Upper East Side restaurant T-Bar in the space later this fall. Fortuna explains: "We'll be open all day from noon to midnight, and will have a lively weekend brunch." [EaterWire]
SOHO — On his blog the Bad Deal, Ryan Sutton asks Costata's sommelier Hristo Zisovski about the benefits of using the Coravin device. Here's one plus for Zisovski: "If a guest wants to continue with another bottle of the same wine but doesn't need an entire bottle, she can still purchase the bottle off our list and use the Coravin to control how much they want to drink. Then she can take the rest of the 'unopened bottle' home and pop the cork of this fresh bottle at their convenience." [The Bad Deal]
