The owners of pricey Midtown Italian restaurant Bice filed a notice with the Department of Labor explaining that they will lay off their 66 employees on January 1. The restaurant might be closing, or this might be a ploy to start negotiations with the Local 100. Restaurateur Piermario Del Rosso tells Crain's: "We cannot stay in business anymore with such high labor costs." The restaurant filed similar notices in 2009 and 2011. [Crain's]
