The agenda for next month's CB3 SLA Licensing committee meeting lists an application for Dirt Candy (Big Candy LLC) at 86 Allen Street. Presumably, this is chef Amanda Cohen and the team from the East Village's two-star vegetarian restaurant Dirt Candy. Ms. Cohen has yet to confirm that she's eyeing the space, but the original location is tiny, and Dirt Candy is very popular, so a move to bigger digs would make sense.
A few other tidbits from the agenda: An unnamed company is applying at 8 Extra Place, but we know that this is David Chang and the Momofuku Ko team. The Stanton Social group is vying for another liquor license at 99 Stanton Street. The operators of Smorgasburg hit Schnitz are hoping to score a liquor license for their restaurant at 177 First Ave. And a new application is listed at 9 East First Street under "9 East First Street LLC" — this must be John McDonald and his crew applying for a license at their new steakhouse. The meetings (two this month) will take place on November 18 and November 19.
Note: An earlier version of this post indicated that 86 Allen was the Casa Mezcal space, but that was incorrect. 86 Allen does not have a restaurant occupant.
