The Nomad to Serve Snacks From Hong Kong's Yardbird

New, 3 comments

Starting tomorrow, The Nomad is going to offer a few snacks from Matt Abergel, the chef and owner of acclaimed Hong Kong hot spot Yardbird. Abergel spent several years at Masa in NYC before moving to Hong Kong to open his popular yakitori restaurant, and its sister establishment, Ronin. As the story goes, Daniel Humm and Will Guidara met Abergel earlier this year, and they instantly hit it off. Guidara tells Eater:

When we were in Hong Kong we were there for two weeks, and literally the first night we ran into Matt with his mom and sister on the street, prompting us to visit Yardbird the next day. It was one of the best meals we'd had in a long time, and we got to know Matt a bit after drinking a few beers together. Over the course of the next two weeks we were there, we spent a lot of time with Matt, both in and out of his restaurants. This collaboration was meant to showcase his food in his former hometown, and to give us an excuse to work with a new friend.
They're still figuring out the exact details, but Abergel's Korean fried cauliflower dish, and his version of a Scotch egg will definitely be available. The Yardbird specials will be offered through the end of the year.
