Michael Wurster is the new chef de cuisine at bruised and battered Midtown fine dining restaurant Gordon Ramsay at the London. Wurster most recently worked at ICON in the W Hotel, but before that he also spent time in the kitchens of Le Cirque, The French Laundry, Alain Ducasse at the Essex House, and Lutece — he's been in the game for a while now. The restaurant's previous chef, Markus Glocker, left in July. Just last month, Gordon Ramsay at the London lost its two Michelin stars. It is the only restaurant in the history of the Michelin Guide to go from a two-star rating to a zero-star rating because of "quality issues."
Wurster's menu includes things like foie gras with brioche, sauteed diver scallops, roasted Long Island duck breast, and Colorodo Lamb with smoked eggplant. The five-course tasting menu, by the way, is $185. That means that Gordon Ramsay at the London serves one of the city's top 10 most expensive tasting menus.
