Antica Pesa Reopens; Aldea's New Goa-Inspired Menu

WILLIAMSBURG — Sceney Italian restaurant Antica Pesa is reopening tonight. It was closed by the DOH last week, but the team passed the follow-up inspection, and they got the thumbs up to reopen. Antica Pesa plans to introduce a new fall menu soon. [EaterWire]

FLATIRONGeorge Mendes just introduced the next menu in his Portuguese colony series at Aldea. This one is inspired by the former colony of Goa, India, and it includes things like lobster curry, littleneck clams with blood sausage, and pork belly with peekytoe crab. It's offered as a nine-course tasting for $105, but you can also order any of the dishes a la carte. The regular menu is also available. Take a look at some of the dishes from the Goa menu here. @STEVECUOZZOIf Steve Cuozzo comes into your restaurant, do not try to sell him white truffles. Last night, the critic tweeted: "NYC restaurants: get your damn $1000 white truffles out of my face. And muzzle used car dealers moonlighting as waiters." And later: "Just tried vanilla ice cream with white truffles. Not my idea. Will not try again." [EaterWire]
