Here's a look inside Contra, the much-buzzed about restaurant from up-and-comers Jeremiah Stone and Fabian von Hauske. Inside this long and narrow space the chefs serve a $55 five-course tasting menu that changes daily, cycling through dishes like "monkfish, eggplant, spigarello," or "grape, chamomile, burnt verjus." Sommelier Linda Milagros Violago, formerly of Mugaritz, adds to that just a couple of wines by the glass for a meal that is, as von Hauske put it, "like the space, kind of spare."
