The Gowanus Whole Foods Will Have a Rooftop Beer Bar

The forthcoming Gowanus location of Whole Foods Market will have an in-store beer bar and venue called The Roof. A rep sends word that this bar will have 16 beers on tap, plus canned and bottled brews, and a "hyperlocal" food menu. Expect burgers, baked items, vegetarian dishes, and snacks from Brooklyn Cured, Brooklyn Brine, and several other artisan food brands with "Brooklyn" in their names. This space will have an outdoor deck so you can gaze upon the Gowanus Canal as you sip a microbrew and nibble on slivers of wild boar sausage. Earlier this year, Whole Foods also announced plans to add a rooftop farm to the Gowanus location. It's slated to open in December.
