NOLITA — Chef Sarah Ashley is hosting a meze brunch at The Old Bowery Station, an abandoned subway station on Bowery and Kenmare. She's teaming up with Manousheh NYC and Blue Bottle Coffee, which are both popping up at the space right now, to serve lebanese flatbread with an assortment of toppings and meze like shakshuka. Tickets are $40 per person, and also include two glasses of wine and a coffee. Purchase tickets online. [EaterWire]
UPPER WEST SIDE — Michael Psiliakis's Kefi has now settled on an early November reopening date. It's been closed for the past nine months, because of a water main break that damaged the space. The other restaurant shuttered by that break, Casa Pomona, reopened for business last month. [DNAinfo]
FOOD FESTIVALS — Tickets to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival go on sale Monday, October 21. Among the highlights: a dinner hosted by April Bloomfield to celebrate the tenth anniversary of The Spotted Pig and a seminar on pairing fried chicken with wine. Tickets are available online or by calling 877-762-3933.
MIDTOWN — Two members of the SushiSamba empire previously unseen in New York are coming to The Cubes, a new retail space going up near Bryant Park. From Miami comes Sugarcane Raw Bar & Grill, which specializes in crudo and cocktails, while from London comes Duck & Waffle, serving exactly that, along with things like ox-cheek filled doughnuts.
