The Spotted Pig Team Heads to SF for Tosca Takeover

New, 2 comments

April Bloomfield and the team from the Spotted Pig have swooped in to save an old, beloved restaurant in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. Eater SF learns that Bloomfield and Co. have signed the lease on Tosca, a decades-old bar that was on the brink of shuttering after a legal dispute between the landlord and the old owner. The team plans to "preserve the restaurant as Tosca," and Bloomfield will act as the executive chef and co-owner.

Bloomfield and business partner Ken Friedman both have ties to the Bay Area: April worked at Chez Panisse in Berkeley in 2003, and Friedman worked as a concert promoter in San Francisco early in his career. No word yet on when the new Tosca will open or what type of food it will serve.
