New, 3 comments

NOLITA ? Food writer person Francis Lam is going to be chatting as part of a City Grit dinner on Wednesday, January 16 at 7:30 p.m. He'll be telling stories about Biloxi, Miss., from a talk he gave at the Southern Foodways Alliance Symposium two years ago. The dinner costs $65 and half of proceeds go to the SFA. [EaterWire]

CITYWIDE ? Here's a man who's trying to hit every Starbucks in New York City and blog about it. Named John McCourt, he's rating each one on a scale from one to five cups. So far the only "five cup" Starbucks is the one at the corner of Spring and Crosby streets. [NYCStarbucks via Grub Street]

RED HOOK ? Two heavy-hitters of the cocktail world, Audrey Saunders of the Pegu Club in Soho and The Cocktail Spirit host Robert Hess, are making Tom and Jerries at Fort Defiance tonight at 11 p.m. Best part? The drinks are free. [EaterWire]

SPAIN ? Eater National has a map of 18 restaurants in Spain that are hot and have the food to back it up. Keep an eye out for Spain's two newest Michelin three-stars (Quique Dacosta and Azurmendi), Albert and Ferran Adrià's "tapas" restaurant in Barcelona (Tickets), a well-reviewed Mexican restaurant in Madrid (Punto MX), and more.
