With the Loews Regency Hotel closing for renovations at the beginning of this month, the hotel's famed power breakfast service has moved temporarily to Park Avenue Winter. When the hotel finally reopens in the fall, the breakfast will return, but in a very different form: Grub Street learns that hotelier Jonathan Tisch is passing operation of the breakfast on to the owners of Sant Ambroeus.
In place of the hotel's 540 Park restaurant, Gherardo Guarducci and Dimitri Pauli will open an as-yet unnamed Italian concept. They're also planning a fourth location of their Sant Ambreous empire, which will have its own entrance on 61st Street. Tisch tells Grubs that the new restaurant should be open by November 1.
