Move over Marquee and see you later Le Baron. New York already has a new #1 hot spot, and you'll be happy to know it's the new members-only Sidecar lounge above P.J. Clarke's. Why is it so hot? P.J. Clarke's co-owner Thea Grace Scotti tells the Post that Sidecar's members are people "who understand the value of good old-fashioned conversation and having real face time with friends and colleagues." The Post hints that this group may include Johnny Depp, Keith Richards, Liza Minnelli, and Brooke Shields, but definitely includes McKinsey & Co. manager Brian Feuer and Guggenheim Partners executive John Regan. Who wouldn't clamor for action like that?
But just because it is a certified hot spot, don't expect some kind of anything-goes club like you would find below 14th Street or at the Corner Bistro, because as owner Phil Scotti explains "I don't want to be the guy at the door of Studio 54." Of course not. And good news: Sidecar will be adding another 100 members soon, so make sure you fill out those applications (warning: you will be asked what you value) and then start praying that the Scotti's deem you the next Depp, Richards, or Feuer.
