THE 18TH CENTURY ? Gothamist gets its hands on the very first liquor license ever issued by the City of New York. The date's unknown but it could be from as early as 1702. [Gothamist]

FLATIRON DISTRICT ? The three-month-old restaurant Harding's has launched lunch service. The chef there is former Acme chef de cuisine Ariel Fox, who's crafted a lunch menu of old-school classics like Waldorf salad and steak and potatoes.
