Francis Derby to Cook American Psycho Meal at Nitehawk

New, 7 comments

It's no Dorsia, but fans of American Psycho will get a chance to eat food inspired by the book/movie while watching the film at The Nitehawk next month. The Williamsburg theater/restaurant will screen the movie on February 7 with a menu by Momofuku alum Francis Derby. As you may recall, he was also the chef at a short-lived restaurant called King which had buttons that guests could push if they wanted Champagne. It's too bad that idea never took off.

Derby's menu will riff on the haute cuisine of the '80s, with dishes like squid ravioli, goat cheese profiteroles, peanut butter soup, sea urchin ceviche, and cilantro-crawfish gumbo. The meal at the Nitehawk is $75 and it includes beverage pairings.

As a bonus, here's a clip of the Texarcana scene from the film:

Vinegar Hill House also did an American Psycho dinner a few years ago, but the restaurant did not screen the film.
