Last summer, The Meatball Shop's Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow announced plans to open a new location on the Upper East Side this winter. It's going to be a 70-seat space (with a private dining area for 30), taking over a former hardware store on Second Avenue. According to David T. Ennis, the developer who bought the building back in 2011 and who recently gave an interview to the Times, the new Meatball Shop location will open in March, when the building's renovations are complete. That assumes no delays, of course.
Chernow and Holzman also have a location coming to Chelsea and are working on a massive central cooking location and test kitchen in Bushwick.
