New, 2 comments

1) Greenwich Village: Jeremiah Moss brings the sad news that the 40-year-old Suzie's Finest Chinese Cuisine on Bleecker Street has shuttered. For more on this Village mainstay, check out this Who Goes There? column from February 2010. [JVNY]

2) East Village: On Monday, news broke that Max, the Italian favorite on Avenue B, has shuttered. This must mean that the Williamsburg expansion is almost set to open. [EV Grieve]

3) FiDi: Broadway Café at 160 Broadway has shuttered, with Koshertopia reporting that the shutter is due to post-Hurricane Sandy financial struggles. [Koshertopia]

4) Cobble Hill: The Atomic Wings/Lars Pasta To Go combo on Smith Street has shuttered. The Atomic Wings chain opened in the spot in 2009, struggling more recently and adding the pasta operation in 2011 to boost business. That clearly didn't work out, and the restaurant has called it quits. [Pardon Me For Asking]

5) FiDi: The inexpensive Baxter Place sandwich shop Paulie's Place is shuttering today, due to "the rising cost of doing business." [Midtown Lunch]
