Seasonal Dinners at Donna; Chefs Talk Tasting Menus

WILLIAMSBURG ? Stylish Williamsburg bar Donna is launching a new seasonal dinner series called Calva, with food by Chanterelle alum Charles Imbelli. The winter edition is this Sunday, January 13, and the 10-course meal costs $100 or $150 with wine and cocktail pairings. Tickets are available online. [EaterWire]

LITTLE ITALY ? The nightlife spot GoldBar has new owners and new hours, with a revamp launching tonight. The bar now opens at 6 p.m. and has a whole bunch of new cocktails, along with a selection of small plates by a former Sushi Samba chef. [EaterWire]

RED HOOK ? Serious Eats checks in with the owners of Court Street Grocers and La Newyorkina, both of which had facilities destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. Court Street's planned Red Hook sandwich shop is in bad shape, with much of the money dedicated to opening it now going to rebuilding. (Insurance is a non-starter and the shop's ineligible for grants since it hadn't opened yet.) And La Newyorkina's production facility was wiped out, and owner Fany Gerson's plans to open a brick-and-mortar are on hold until December at the earliest as she navigates starting over.
