Flo Fab just dropped her monster fall preview, with details on new restaurants opening soon in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Perhaps most interesting is the news that, as rumored on Eater last week, Shaun Hergatt is now working for Jimmy Haber's ESquared Hospitality group as a "food visionary" (Haber's term). Hergatt's first order of business will be the opening of a 50-seat restaurant in the Hotel Chandler called Juni, which will feature an upscale, "vegetable-driven, locally sourced menu." That's actually slated to debut in winter 2013.
Gabe Stulman's new Izakaya project will be called Chez Sardine. Fedora's Mehdi Brunet-Benkritly will be the chef and partner there. Jo-Ann Makovitzky and Marco Moreira (15 East and Tocqueville) will open an American restaurant in the Hyatt Union Square called The Fourth, as well as a small-plates parlor in the same building. Former Cafe Boulud chef Michael Oliver will work with Andrew Carmellini on The Library at The Public Theater. Delmonico's Kitchen, the new project from the Delmonico's team, will serve "updated versions of some Delmonico signatures," in a space on 36th Street. A French sandwich shop called La Maison Du Croque Monsieur is slated to open on East 13th Street this fall. And Hung Huynh is working on the EMM Group's new Bowery restaurant.
Also: Hugue Dufour and Sarah Obraitis hope to open M. Wells Dinette at MOMA P.S. 1 sometime this month. (The catamaran steakhouse has been pushed back till next year.)
