Elizabeth Falkner's Krescendo Preps for October Opening

Later this fall, San Francisco chef and Top Chef Master alumna Elizabeth Falkner will open her new pizzeria Krescendo on Atlantic Avenue. This is Falkner's first foray into running a New York restaurant, where she'll be joined by managing partner and Brooklyn native Nancy Puglisi (formerly of Tony's Pizza Napoletana in SF) and barman Darren Crawford, formerly of San Francisco's Bourbon & Branch. She'll be joined in the kitchen by Vezuviano native Alberico Nunziata, while the space, which formerly housed Downtown Atlantic, has been redesigned by a couple of the guys from the show Restaurant: Impossible.

As you may recall, two members of the Tony's Pizza Napoletana team opened a pizzeria last year called 900 Degrees that fizzled out after less than five months, despite generally favorable reviews from the pizza nerds. Hopefully Falkner and Co. will have more luck in Brooklyn. For anyone who doesn't want to wait until the restaurant opens later this fall, Falkner will be serving food from Krescendo at Atlantic Antic, the massive street festival happening on Sunday on Atlantic Avenue between Hicks Street and Fourth Avenue.
