Shake Shack Rumored for Space Near Barclays Center

Has Danny Meyer caught Barclays Center fever? The Post hears that several restaurants are coming soon to storefronts near Brooklyn's biggest, baddest new arena, including an outpost of Shake Shack. The rumor is that Meyer will open his burger stand in a Flatbush Avenue space directly across the street from the stadium. Apparently, the Delicatessen team is also planning a version of Macbar down the street called Elbow Room, and a "top pitmaster from Austin, Texas" is also rumored to be opening a restaurant nearby.

A number of chain restaurants are also said to be coming to the area around the stadium, although nothing is confirmed just yet. Eater has reached out to the Shake Shack team, but there's still no word yet on whether this is a done deal.
UPDATE: A Shake Shack rep notes: "As you know rumors often circulate about us. However, we having nothing to report."
UPDATE 2: A rep from the Delicatessen team sends word that the restaurant group has no affiliation with Elbow Room. Completely different set of operators. This detail was not fact-checked by the Post.
