Amnesty Wire

2012_09_waldorfteapot.jpgBack in June, the Waldorf Astoria initiated an amnesty program to get back any items that had been less-than-honorably removed from the hotel and restaurant over the years. Hotel officials admitted that the program was started for publicity, but at least 15 stolen items have been returned, including a teapot from 1938 and several knives from the 1950's. Images of the items are on the Waldorf Facebook page and will eventually be displayed in the lobby. [NYT]
