After nine years in business, the Dumbo location of all-purpose American restaurant Bubby's is closing up shop. The Bubby's team tells Eater that October 27 will be the restaurant's last day in business. Until then, the dining room will be open for brunch on the weekends, and the catering division will continue to operate as usual. And the restaurant is still going to host the 9th annual Bubby's Pie Social to benefit NYC public schools on September 30.
The owners offer no reason for the closure, but there have been rumors about the shuttering for months. Eater hears that the company that manages the building has been looking for another restaurant to fill the storefront for some time now. Apparently, team Bubby's is scouting new spaces in Brooklyn and Manhattan. The original Tribeca location is still going strong.
