After a nearly two-year-long break from the NYC dining scene, legendary restaurateur Chris Cannon is back in action. Diner's Journal reports that Cannon is opening an Italian restaurant called All'Onda this November with former Ai Fiori chef de cuisine Chris Jaeckle in the kitchen. As you may recall, Ai Fiori was the last project that Cannon worked on with former partner Michael White before their monster divorce.
Although there have been rumors about new projects from Cannon and Jaeckle for months now, this collaboration comes as a complete surprise. The restaurateur notes: "I've been involved in this for a few months...It's an interesting opportunity for me." Apparently, Cannon has been doing some consulting work in Jersey recently, and he's also working on a mystery project in Morristown. All'Onda will open this fall in the former City Tavern space on East 13th Street, just a block away from Union Square
