The Loews Regency Hotel on Park Avenue and 61st Street will close on January 1 for a year-long renovation period. The facelift will include the nightclub, the dining areas, and the pricey breakfast room which is considered the official home of the New York City power breakfast. Chairman of the Loews Hotels Jonathan M. Tisch says he is working with a restaurant in the area to create a "pop-up power breakfast." [NYT]
