Cesare Casella to Unleash Salumeria Rosi onto the UES Tonight

Status: Opening Tonight

Here it is: Cesare Casella is set to unveil the second location of Salumeria Rosi onto the Upper East Side tonight. The chef de cuisine here is Del Posto alum Will Hickox, who will oversee the menu of classic Italian with dishes like Lucchese ravioli and rosemary scented pork chops. And the wine list has been amped up, with Wine Director Michael Doctor building a cellar of about 600 bottles.

As with the West Side Salumeria, the Salumeria Rosi owners enlisted Oscar-winning art director and production designer Dante Ferretti (who's worked on films like The Aviator and Sweeney Todd) in the restaurant's design. This one's bigger than the itsy-bitsy West Side location, though, seating 60 in the dining room and with a 10 seat bar and a takeout salumi counter.

The East Side Salumeria Rosi opens tonight for dinner and will be open for breakfast and lunch Monday to Friday, with dinner nightly and brunch on the weekends.
