East Village music and video store Kim's Video is getting into the restaurant business. In an attempt to diversify his business after declining sales shuttered all but one Kim's Video locations, owner Yongman Kim is opening a new operation called Kim's Video Makes a Pizza. It'll be located at the new building at 101 Avenue D.
Kim tells The Local that he envisions it as an "alternative and interactive pizza store" that mixes the "mentality and personality" of Kim's Video into the pizza parlor and wine bar. It'll be more pizza shop than record store, with Kim calling it "a full-sitting restaurant where young and night owls gather and talk about music, films, art and other cultures." He anticipates opening by November.
