Last month, DelShah Capital finished the acquisition of 55 Gansevoort Street, which currently houses Villa Pacri and Gun Bar. DelShah principal Michael Shah is also a chief backer and landlord of Matt Levine and his Lower East Side projects Sons of Essex and the recently opened Cocktail Bodega. Levine quietly showed up at a Community Board meeting last month discussing a new Mexican concept that he has planned for the space, for which he received approval.
Putting it all together, the former Eldridge maven is deciding to leave the comfy confines of the Lower East Side and put his stamp on the Meatpacking District. Levine confirms it all, but cautions that it is way early in the game, saying that "the Meatpacking project with my partner Michael Shah hasn't really begun, just throwing around ideas and concepts at this point." So all of you Villa Pacri fans better enjoy it while it lasts.
