Corwin Kave, the executive chef of the Fatty Crew, is leaving the restaurant group. The chef put in his notice months ago, and today is his last day on the job. Kave started with the company back when there was just one Fatty Crab in the West Village. In recent years, the chef held a position where he oversaw the day-to-day culinary operations of the entire New York group. Kave has not announced his next plans, although he tells Eater that he's going to take some time off for a vacation.
There have been a lot of changes in the Fatty Universe lately: Fatty Crab UWS shuttered to make way for Red Farm, Zak Pelaccio moved Upstate to open a restaurant with his wife, and the 'Burg location of Fatty 'Cue closed for renovations back in January, and still hasn't reopened. And, although it's not officially a Fatty concept, VP of operations Jesse Camac opened RYU with reality TV star Scott Disick earlier this summer. Right now, the West Village locations of Fatty Crab and Fatty 'Cue are the only two Fatty Crew restaurants in operation.
No word yet on who Kave's replacement will be.
