Holy bananas. Andrew Tarlow, the restaurateur behind Reynard, Marlow & Sons, and Diner, is applying for a liquor license at 62 Green St. in the northern tip of Greenpoint. This space formerly housed a tavern, but it has sat empty for at least five years. Of course, there's always a chance that Tarlow might not open here if he encounters resistance from the Community Board 1, but that's probably not going to happen. Also, Eater has noticed some work on this space recently, so perhaps the wheels are already in motion.
This is a potentially huge addition to the Greenpoint dining landscape, because although the neighborhood has a lot of bars, cheap Mexican places, and Polish diners, there aren't very many places to get a solid meal on date night.
