Some changes are afoot at Seersucker and Smith Canteen, the two Carroll Gardens restaurants from Kerry Diamond and Robert Newton. Diamond tells Eater that starting next Tuesday, Seersucker will open seven days a week for breakfast (starting at 8 a.m.) and lunch (till 3 p.m.). All of the made-to-order food that was served at Smith Canteen will now live at Seersucker, including the fried chicken sandwich. The Canteen will continue to serve coffee, baked goods, and some sandwiches and salads to stay or to go.
The changes will hopefully help alleviate the monster lines that form at Smith Canteen during rush hour. Before Smith Canteen opened, Seersucker served breakfast and lunch, so this is basically a return to their old operating system.
