East Houston Street beware! Some of New York's biggest nightlife sharks are circling the waters, and they smell blood and already licensed venues that are currently on the market. They're ready to turn the stretch of Houston from Bowery to Avenue A into the new center of New York nightlife.
Intrigued by the EMM Group's soon-to-open Bowery project and Rob McKinley's (Surf Lodge, Goldbar, Cain) takeover of the old Element club, the owners of Pink Elephant, Greenhouse, Hudson Terrace, Acme, 1Oak and Electric Room are also reportedly searching for their own downtown venues. Tops on the list are the soon to be vacated Lucky Cheng's and Sutra, two long running establishments that are on the market. But is the East Village ready to become the next Meatpacking District?
